Langkawi is home to approximately 267 species of birds, of which about one-third are migrants. These migrants winter here between the months of November to April. Outside these months, we will still get to see the resident birds. The most suitable time to observe birds at the equator is either early morning or early evening when they are most active. This tour is suitable for both the serious birder and the birding enthusiast. This half-day tour is spread over two sessions. You can either do them both or the one you prefer.

Meet your guide and begin your birdwatching journey as you travel toward Langkawi’s scenic natural habitats.
Start your morning in the open rainforest corridor, ideal for observing forest-dwelling birds. Keep your eyes peeled for species such as Flowerpeckers, Hill Mynas, Dollarbirds, Racket-tail Drongos, Woodpeckers, Oriental-pied Hornbills, and Great Hornbills. With luck, you may even spot the elusive Mountain Hawk-Eagle.
Continue to the mangrove forest, home to a variety of kingfishers and raptors. Birds commonly seen here include Brown-winged Kingfisher, Collared Kingfisher, Black-capped Kingfisher, White-bellied Sea Eagle, Brahminy Kite, Common Sandpiper, and Little Heron.
Conclude your morning at the paddy fields, where wetland birds thrive. Look out for Red-wattled Lapwings, Pond Herons, Egrets, Bitterns, White-throated Kingfishers, and Swamphens.
After an enriching morning of birdwatching and photography, return to your hotel before noon.
